A Message from ICMA-RC President and CEO Joan McCallen
Forty years ago, on May 26, 1972, ICMA-RC was founded by the public sector for the public sector. Our founders, public sector representatives, envisioned a portable and flexible retirement plan for all who serve our cities, counties, states, municipalities and communities. Their vision laid the foundation for our mission of helping public employees build retirement security. It was forty years ago when ICMA-RC brought on its first plan, the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, who we are still proud to represent today.
Today, ICMA-RC is one of the 25 largest U.S. record keepers* and stands firmly behind our mission of serving public sector employees of all size plans. ICMA-RC provides retirement saving and planning services for more than a million participant accounts and approximately 9,000 employer plans.
Since our beginnings, we have focused on the retirement planning needs of our plan sponsors and participants. And our associates have served our clients with integrity, excellence and high standards for quality.
Our legacy at ICMA-RC is strong because of our ongoing commitment to serve the exceptional men and women who serve our local communities. We are proud of the past 40 years and look forward to many years of continued service to the public sector.
Sincerely,
Joan McCallen
